William Hague and Harry Potter are LibDem MPs' top summer reads

Well it is "William Wilberforce: The Life of the Great Anti-Slave Trade Campaigner" by William Hague, so they can be forgiven.

Apparently, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" makes number three on the MPs' holiday reading list purely because of its popularity with LibDem MPs. The Independent remarks:

It might be supposed that this has something to do with the resemblance between the Liberal Democrat leader, Sir Menzies Campbell, and Dumbledore - except that Dumbledore is dead, whereas to say the same of Sir Menzies would be to over-interpret what the opinion polls are telling us.

  1. Surprised the Ashdown book wasnt top of the list - maybe they are all too tight to splash out on the hardback edition... ;-0
