There appears to have been a rampant discussion of the new cars of Iain Dale and the Norfolk Blogger, without mention of their relative carbon emission levels. A bit of an omission. Here is a comparison:
Norfolk Blogger:
Age 36
New car: Skoda Fabia
Emissions:120 g/km
Iain Dale:
Age 44
New car: Audi A5 Coupe
Emissions:191 g/km
I treated you to the comparative ages because Iain Dale published a posting about the NB's new car under the title: "You know you're middle aged when..."
Some of us would argue that you know you are middle aged when you have to purchase a sort of automotive Viagra.
It is also fascinating that Iain Dale announced the order of his new car, writing: "And before anyone says anything, it is 34 g/km greener than my current car!"
Oh well, that's alright then.

You've made me feel really awful now! My Renault Mégane 1.4l produces a shocking 165 g/km, which is nowhere near as bad as Iain's environment-killing evil Death Machine, but still not as good as Nich's Skoda.
ReplyDeleteI can, however, drive a whole 7mph faster than Nich on the Autobahn ...
That's alright Jonny. As long as you purchase a carbon-offset, you are forgiven ;-)
ReplyDeletePaul, it is 191 g/km. You must have been looking at the figures for the S5, not the A5.
ReplyDeleteThere are, of course, so many shared parts between Audi/VW/Skoda/SEAT that the only real difference between my car and Iain's is that myine is better for the environment and mine costs £10,000 less.
ReplyDeleteTo be fair to Iain, he a-mailed me first to warn me what he was writing and he was having a bit of fun.
Many thanks for that welcome clarification Iain. I will immediately update my posting.
