Just to prove I was there today, here is a photo I took of an industrial estate just off Waterden Road, which is in the heart of what will be the "Olympic Park" in Hackney/Stratford, East London. The whole place is going to be shut off and boarded up on July 2nd.
The area in the photo will become the multi-storey car park, just behind the warm-up athletics track.
The whole place is like a ghost town at the moment, though several businesses are still operating there. Stratford station was seething with police, presumably because T.Blair was visiting around there today. Also, the International Olympics Committee are starting a visit today. It is all rather surreal.
