If you are in charge of watching public spending in the UK, do you really need to travel abroad at public expense 43 times in 3 years, at a cost of £336,000?
Sir John Bourn, head of the National Audit Office, has some explaining to do. In fairness, the NAO say that their global work brings in £4 million per year for the Treasury. Even then, one has to wonder if the man has his eye on the right ball.
